How To Redeem Your Microsoft Product Key

After purchasing a Microsoft product key from Prise Keys, you'll need to redeem it through your Microsoft account. This guide walks you through the redemption process for all Microsoft products including Windows, Office, and Microsoft 365.
Before You Begin
Make sure you have the following ready:
- Your product key (25-character code received via email)
- A Microsoft account (or create one for free)
- An internet connection
- The device where you want to use the product
Method 1: Redeem Through Microsoft Account Website
This is the recommended method for most products:
Go to Microsoft Redeem Page
Visit setup.office.com for Office products or redeem.microsoft.com for other Microsoft products.
Sign In to Your Microsoft Account
Enter your Microsoft account email and password. If you don't have an account, click 'Create one' to register for free.
Enter Your Product Key
Type your 25-character product key exactly as shown in your email. The key format is XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX.
Confirm and Redeem
Click 'Redeem' or 'Next' to confirm. Microsoft will validate your key and add the product to your account.
Download and Install
After successful redemption, you'll be prompted to download and install your product, or access it from your Microsoft account.
Method 2: Redeem During Installation
You can also redeem your key while installing the product:
- Download and run the installer for your Microsoft product
- When prompted for a product key, enter your 25-character code
- Sign in with your Microsoft account to complete activation
- The product will be automatically linked to your account
Redeeming Specific Products
Microsoft Office (2016, 2019, 2021, 2024)
- Go to setup.office.com
- Sign in with your Microsoft account
- Enter your 25-character product key
- Select your country/region and language
- Click 'Next' to add Office to your account
- Download Office from your account page
Windows 10/11
- Open Settings on your Windows PC
- Go to System > Activation
- Click 'Change product key'
- Enter your 25-character product key
- Click 'Next' to activate Windows
Microsoft 365
- Go to microsoft365.com/setup
- Sign in with your Microsoft account
- Enter your product key
- Follow the prompts to set up your subscription
- Download and install Microsoft 365 apps
Troubleshooting Redemption Issues
Key Not Working
Double-check that you're entering the key correctly. Make sure there are no typos and that you're using the correct website for your product type.
Key Already Used
If the key shows as already used but you haven't used it, contact our support team immediately with your order details.
Wrong Product Type
Ensure you're redeeming the key on the correct platform. Windows keys won't work for Office and vice versa.
Region Mismatch
Some keys are region-specific. Make sure your Microsoft account region matches the key's region.
